Didactics - Week 5 -

This week, Mina proposed us to watch the film "La educación prohibida". It's a documentary that questions the modern education and the way to understand it, which set the need of a new way to educate.
What the film is trying to say is make us think about the education that teachers are giving us and it says that we have to give more importance to some values like are love, respect, freedom or the learning. There're different opinions about the current education. The dissatisfaction in parents and pupils is a reality, they don't agree with the education transmited, the way their children are educated.
We have to take into account that children today aren't like the children in the past, because the needs are different, like their interests, ways of thinking.. So, when teachers enforce traditional education they feel negative senses because it doen't fit with them.
There're lots of solutions for this daily problem. In the film we can see a educative sistem, aula-taller, which is very effective for children because they feel comfortable and in this way they are prepared to learn. Here, they can find different ways of learning, like audiovisual, by repeating. taking notes, playing some games according to what they're learning and so on.
Another interesting point about the film is that the institutions should train teachers to carry out this way of educating. We want to give different options to the student to find his own knowledge and in this way, develop it.
After watching the film, we discussed about what the film has transmited each one and we did agree with that education must change because we are not equal and every student has different skills.

Apart from that, we made a test, which is called Vark Test. It's a questionnaire that provides four scores and the various combinations of those scores are huge in number. You can order a report based on your specialized profile. Every attempt is made to personalize the report so that it addresses the meanings from your learning preferences in a unique way. After doing it, we discovered which kind of learning we are better at. My scores were Visual 7, Aural 11, Read/Write 4 and Kinesthetic 9.
